Crypto exchange Crypto.com has extended its presence in Dubai, partnering with the government to facilitate government service payments. The partnerships, announced by Dubai’s Department of Finance, align with the city’s ambitious transition to a cashless society.

Crypto.com confirmed that some of the services covered by the partnership included government-sponsored services such as parking.

The agreement will support individuals and business customers of government entities to pay for service fees using crypto via Crypto.com’s wallet.

Dubai authorities have not specified which cryptocurrencies will be accepted. However, the integration marks a bold step toward everyday crypto utility in one of the world’s most tech-forward cities.

Crypto.com’s Growing Footprint in the UAE

This development builds on Crypto.com’s expanding operations in the region. In 2023, the exchange secured its Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in Dubai, giving it the green light to legally offer its services across the emirate. Dubai continues to attract global players as it positions itself as a leading crypto and Web3 hub.

Outside Dubai, Crypto.com is also making waves in the U.S. market. The company recently launched a co-branded credit card with Bread Financial. The card allows U.S. users to earn CRO tokens on everyday purchases. The Visa card comes in five tiers and offers up to 5% back in CRO, Crypto.com’s native token.

The rewards are automatically deposited into users’ crypto wallets. Once there, users can trade, stake, or invest in assets like NFTs or tokenized stocks. Some tiers even offer perks like Netflix and Spotify rebates.
